"Don't BLINK"

I was driving in my car yesterday and heard a song that really stuck in my mind. It is sung by country singer Kenny Chesney. In the song it talks about how he sees an 102 year old man on tv being interviewed who is asked "What's the secret of Life?" and old man's response was...

"All I can say is... Don't Blink. Cuz just like that you're six years old and you're taking naps and you wake up and you're twenty-five and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife. Don't blink. You just might miss your babies growing like mine did, Turning into moms and dads next thing you know your "better half" of fifty years is there in bed and you're praying God takes you instead. Trust me friend, a hundred years goes faster than you think, So don't blink."

It is sooo.....true. If you were to look back on your life at how quickly it has gone by you'd be as amassed. Mine has flown. For those of you who aren't as old as some of us...the older you get....that faster it goes.

The song continues later with more advice from the old man...

"Best start putting first things first. Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand you can't flip it over and start again. Take every breath God gives you, for what it's worth."

So...Take the time to savor every moment you have in your life, no matter how small. Try to slow it down, and take in as much as you possibly can of what really matters in your life. Your family, spouse, kids, nature, what ever it may be for you. We live in a world far too fast paced...get a grip, hold on tight, and don't let "one" precious moment pass you by.
