SNOW DAYS
by Candis Twede Today my kids all stayed home from school...not because of a snow day (even though we do have snow/ice packed roads) but because it was a wapping -19 degrees below zero...-35 degress w/ windchill. All of my kids are in school so I have become accustomed to having nearly 7 hrs to get things done with my business without interruption. When you aren't planning on having them home other than the scheduled days listed on the school calander, it can kind of put an unexpected speed bump in your path. I discovered over the course of the day that pausing for a few moments, and spending quality time with my kids was very needed. I played the new credit card version of monopoly with the boys, sang and played piano with the girls (who are rarely home in the evenings) and filled out scholarship applications with my daughter who will be off to college in the fall. I know I've said it before, but time goes by WAY to fast to let the little moments slide. Take the time with your kids...no matter how trivial it may seem. Not only will they remember it as a happy and fun time with their mom or dad...but YOU will have those memories as well. btw...They are hoping for tomorrow off as well... Email this Link to a Friend.
